I went on a week-long trip to the Balkans with a friend of mine. We went to Slovenia, Montenegro, and Kosovo. We stayed in Pristina which is the capital city. The local people were very friendly and everyone greeted us in the streets.
My friend and I arrived in Kosovo at 5 am, after an eight-hour journey on a night bus from Montenegro. After a 6 hour nap in the hotel, we woke up and decided that we want to try some local cuisine. We visited a beautiful local restaurant called Liburnia. Can you believe this glass of wine was €1.50?
After filling our bellies with food, we decided to roam around the city. Pristina is very small and you can walk from one end to the other within 40 minutes.
The next morning we were greeted with a beautiful fresh breakfast. The cook made it in front of us and asked exactly what we wanted. It was very tasty!
There are not many attractions in Kosovo as it is a new & small country. We found this historical monument, and I am guessing that it symbolises the country’s independence from Serbia. (I gathered that there is a lot of tension between Serbia and many other Balkan countries) I was told that it’s almost impossible to travel between Serbia and Kosovo.
We discovered this blue coloured lemon Fanta in Pristina. This picture was taken in the airport on the way back to London. We decided to order spaghetti bolognese and my friend saw the blue Fanta sitting in the fridge.
