Day 1

So I managed to find some cheap return flights to Stockholm Sweden for £70 during March. I thought the snow season would be over. This was wrong! Sweden greeted me with -7 degrees, snow, and ice-cold winds.
Ugg boots are not “slip-proof” during snowy conditions…but they sure are warm! Anyway, I enjoyed my first day even though it was -7. The cold did hurt my skin but I stopped feeling it after a while. I wandered around and took some nice winter pictures with the snow.
The first picture was taken in Östermalms saluhall which is a market. It shows reindeer meat which I had never seen before. Gamla Stan can be seen in the second photo. The third picture was taken in the ice bar. This was my first time visiting one and I thought Sweden would be the perfect place to do it. It’s very cold but they give you this black thermal thing to wear. The glasses they serve the cocktails in are made from ice! I got a free cocktail with my ticket (some kind of lingonberry and vodka mix)
Day 2
I was keen to try some Köttbullar made from reindeer, which just tasted like lamb to be honest. It came with a side salad and a little bowl of lingonberries. The second picture was taken inside The Viking Museum. I have always been fascinated with history so I enjoyed this museum. It gave a taster of what life was like during the Viking times (what they ate, what they wore, what they did) The third picture was taken somewhere near the Viking museum. I was having a little winter photoshoot with my tripod and fell on my back in this snow. Oops!
For breakfast, I had a Kardemummabullar which is a Swedish pastry with cardamom flavour. The middle picture was taken in the National Museum. I have noticed that all Scandinavian countries have hot dog carts dotted around all over the cities. They are tasty and surprisingly cheaper than you would pay for one in England.
