I went with my friend on a week-long trip around the Balkan region of Europe (South East). We went to Montenegro, Slovenia, and Kosovo. A week wasn’t enough time to spend in this region. We both agreed that we could have spent longer in Slovenia and Montenegro. This means I will be back!
Day 1- Podgorica City
(please note: if you are viewing from a mobile device, you can swipe left or right to view more photos)
On the first day, we arrived in the evening on a flight from Slovenia. We went to eat dinner at a local place where I had grilled meat. The locals were VERY friendly. I think they were curious about us as they asked us a lot of questions. Kosovo and Montenegro are the friendliest countries I have been to in Europe. People just seemed happy to have tourists visiting their country. Anyway, the first picture is of the clock tower. The second picture is of a €4 pasta dish which was delicious! it was piping hot and freshly cooked which I wasn’t expecting for that price. The third picture shows the inside of a church named “Saborni Hram Hristovog Vaskrsenja”
Day 2- Kotor Town
On the second day, we went to Kotor which is the most beautiful coastal town in Montenegro. It took 2 hours on a small minivan/bus type of vehicle which left from the bus station. The only thing I can say is that we were in heaven. The first picture shows a seafood risotto I ordered. My friend ordered a black squid ink risotto which meant that her teeth turned black. She was pretty good at removing the black residue swiftly without a toothbrush or mirror. The third picture shows the view from Kotor Bay. We climbed to the top which was a workout.
