Birmingham Christmas Market

We decided to take a day off work to visit Birmingham Christmas Markets. There were very cheap tickets from London to Birmingham for £15 return. After arriving in Birmingham at 10am, we headed straight for the shopping centre opposite the train station. Then we saw a Shein bus that was handing out freebies. All you had to do was spin the wheel and complete an online feedback form. I won a free accessory and my friend won a free makeover, where they did her eyes and lips.

Then we took a walk to the Christmas market and ordered a currywurst. I haven’t eaten this since my 2016 trip to Berlin. Currywurst is basically sausage with tomato sauce and curry powder. Then we went to drink some gluhwein. They even did the German-style deposit for the mugs, which we decided to keep. The last picture is of a bratwurst we had later in the day just before leaving.

We wandered around until we found the “Birmingham wheel” It was a nice but slightly scary experience to ride on this. I wouldn’t say that I’m terrified of heights but sometimes they make me uncomfortable. The first picture shows a statue that was opposite the big wheel. The first thing that stood out to me was the cute pregnant belly.

It was a lovely day trip and a more budget-friendly Christmas market destination than London. Click here to read about my experience at the Christmas markets in Bratislava Slovakia.

Merry Christmas 🎄
