2 Days in York, England

Autumn is probably my favourite season. It’s fluffy socks, pumpkin spice, and candles galore! I was in Leeds for work and decided to take 2 days off afterwards to travel further north to York, England. It rained very heavily but I still enjoyed the city. The locals are so friendly and the city just has a really peaceful atmosphere.

One of the pictures above shows “The Shambles” which is a very old medieval street from the 14th century. I stopped at The Shambles Tavern and tried a seasonal pumpkin spice beer.

The trio of pictures above are from the Roman city walls. It is a nice long walk that stretches all around the city’s perimeter. I did this on my last day so didn’t have time to do the whole walk, which is roughly 3.4 kilometres.

If you want to try traditional English food then York is definitely the place to do it. I’m already from England so none of this is new to me. One of the above pictures shows fish and chips. I went here with a girl I met who was staying in the same place as me. She is vegan and managed to get a vegan option. Another picture shows a Yorkshire pudding, which is something eaten as part of a Sunday roast in Britain. This meal was from The York Roast Co. The other picture was my breakfast at Betty’s Tearoom, which I would recommend to anyone visiting York. I ordered the imperial breakfast, which also included a salmon & potato rösti and a pot of tea (not pictured),

York Minster looks so much better in person! This photo didn’t really do it justice because it was grey and rainy…welcome to Britain! ☂️ The other two photos are from the National Railway Museum which is free.

I would definitely recommend York (England) as a destination even just for a day trip.
